Forty-five educational leaders spend a week each June on the Chapel Hill campus in an intensive exploration of the global issues that impact their schools and communities, our country, and the planet. The program's objective is to help key educators plan and implement programs that will increase global awareness of their faculties and students and how all of us can respond to global challenges and opportunities.
An outstanding faculty of thiry-eight from Duke, NC State, and UNC work with the group during the 5-day program. Daily presentations are followed by Socratic seminars and sessions on how best to teach these issues. And the issues range from the global economy to the environment, public health and global terrorism. This is a rare opportunity for educational leaders to be given the time to read, discuss, and reflect on the most important issues facing America and the world today. “It is a wonderful week of learning,” as participants regularly state at the concluding luncheon.
The registration fee for the program is $300 and lodging cost is $395 (single room) or $198 (double). World View covers all other program costs and most meals. The majority of places are reserved for World View Partners, but some are available for non-partner educators. Please call (919) 962-9264 if you would like to attend or need more information. (Online registration is not available for this program.)
