Study Visit to Russia and Finland

World View hosted its first travel-abroad study tour in June, 1999, to Russia and Finland. Robert Phay, World View's director, and Zhenya Arutyunyan, a Russian native, led twenty-five North Carolina educators on a two-week tour of Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Helsinki, where they visited schools to learn about Russian and Finnish educational systems, lived with Russian families for a few days to get an insider's view of Russian culture, toured major historical and cultural sites, and attended a broad array of cultural events.
