Study Visit to South Africa In June 2000 World View led a group of 33 North Carolina educators to South Africa, a nation struggling to establish a government of justice and democracy after generations of apartheid. Our North Carolinians found much to interest them. The itinerary included several safaris at three different game parks; a journey across the vast South African countryside; visits to a tribal village, Nelson Mandela's home, Soweto, a variety of schools, and numerous cultural sites; a home stay with a South African counterpart; and much more. Participants brought back a new understanding of this emerging nation to share with their schools and communities. The participants of the visit attended World View's seminar on sub-Saharan Africa on March 15-16 as preparation for their journey.
