After fourteen years as director of the Principals' Executive Program, a leadership training program for school administrators established at the Institute of Government, Robert started World View in 1998. Under his leadership, World View has made a strong beginning, with partnerships between the university and school districts and community colleges tripling over the last three years. A Kenan Professor, Robert has served on the UNC-Chapel Hill faculty for over thirty years. He holds degrees from the University of Mississippi and the Yale University Law School, and a degree in Hockeyology from the Hurricanes University in Raleigh. |

Neil Bolick

Neil is World View’s Associate Director. He has primary responsibility for strengthening support to community colleges. Neil has a B.A. in English from UNC at Chapel Hill and holds a Ph.D. in Chinese Language and Literature from Indiana University. He has taught English language and literature in Taiwan, Chinese literature in the US, and ran a consulting firm for international business. He lived in Taiwan and China for five years as a student, teacher, and Fulbright scholar. As an international business consultant he traveled regularly to Asia, South America, and Europe.

Carina is World View's Assistant Director for Curriculum. She primarly
works with schools and colleges to develop and enhance global curricula. As a former French and Spanish teacher, Carina led various language and cultural student trips abroad. Carina holds a B.A. in International Affairs and Spanish from Florida State University. She speaks Spanish, French, some Mandarin, and has studied in Buenos Aires and Paris.

As World View's Program Associate, Brianne provides support to the faculty and general support to programs. Brianne holds a B.A. from James Madison University where she studied Spanish and ESL Education. She has traveled to Central America, Asia, and Europe as a coordinator and participant in community service-learning programs. Previous to World View, Brianne worked for four years as a community organizer for Triangle refugee resettlement. |

As World View's Program Manager, Lauren is responsible for the support operation of the program. She serves as business manager, human resources facilitator, and office manager. She also oversees the logistics for World View's programs. Lauren holds a B.S. in International Business Administration from Valparaiso University. She speaks Spanish and studied abroad for a semester in Granada, Spain. She has also traveled in Europe, Africa, and Central America.

World View's Assistant Director for Outreach, Julie, connects and develops World View partnerships throughout the state on an ongoing basis. Julie received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and holds a Masters of Public Health degree from UNC-Chapel Hill. She was a Peace Corps volunteer in Albania for two years where she taught English as a foreign language in a secondary school and coordinated community development projects.

Katharine is World View's Assistant Program Manager. She provides general office support, processes participant registrations, prepares program materials, and develops the website. Katharine has previously worked at Sidwell Friends School in Washington DC, where she was a middle school teacher and varsity softball coach. Katharine holds a B.A. in Anthropology and American Musical Culture from Georgetown University. |

Alice Lentz serves as World View's Western North Carolina representative for community colleges.
Alice currently directs the federally-funded TRIO programs at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute, a World View partner since 2005. For many years in New York City, Alice managed international projects for business associations and foundations, and this work entailed regular travel to South America, Asia, and Africa.
A 2006 alumna of World View's Global Education Leaders' Program, Alice was elected to World View's advisory board and serves as vice chair, NC Community College System's Global Learner Consortium. |

Darien Mahaffee

For several years, Darien Mahaffee has volunteered her time to help World View prepare for its symposiums, seminars, and mailings. By now she has become an indispensable part of the program. Darien had the opportunity to travel abroad when she was working full time and had some interesting solo adventures while exploring foreign cultures first-hand. She is an incredible help to the World View staff and a wonderful friend of the program. |

Jim and Ramona McRae serve as World View's volunteer representatives for Western North Carolina. Jim is a retired Principal/teacher and Ramona is a retired 6th Grade Teacher from Wilkes County. Both of them traveled widely during their teaching careers – Asia, Europe, South America – and hope to share these experiences and their global perspective with fellow educators. They have acted as facilitators and leaders at World View programs and have helped schools in Western North Carolina develop global action plans. |

Amos Stroud serves as World View's Eastern North Carolina's representative for K-12 schools. Amos was born and educated in eastern North Caronia, finishing high school in Kinston and graduating from East Carolina University. He taught math and coached in Goldsboro before moving to Onslow County where he was a principal for 22 years, starting three new schools. In 1985 he and Robert teamed up in the Principals' Executive Program and have been close friends ever since. Amos attends every symposium where he is the official “bell ringer,” getting educators back to class. He has become an integral part of World View. |
