World View Symposium


Annual World View Symposiums

World View inaugurated its work in the fall of 1998 with the Kickoff Symposium, which drew an audience of over 300 school and community college educators from across the state.  Other World View symposium topics have included, "The New Global Order" (1999), "Immigration:  Its Causes, Benefits, Challenges, and Future Impacts" (2000), "Creating Global Schools and Colleges" (2001), "Understanding Conflict in an Era of Globalization: Educating Responsible Citizens" (2002), "Globalization: What It Means and How to Teach It" (2003), "Global Education: Infusing Global Themes Into Every Classroom" (2004), and "Global Science: What Every Educator Needs to Know" (2005), "K-12 Symposium: Best Practices in Education from Around the World" and "Community Colleges Symposium: The Global Economy" (2006), "K-12 Symposium: Best Practices in Global Education from Around the United States" and "Community College Symposium: Globalization's Impact and Model Global Programs at Community Colleges in the U.S." (2007), "K-12 Symposium: Bringing World Cultures to the Classroom" and "Community College Symposium: Globalization and Global Health Issues (2008), "Global Education Symposium: Twenty-First Century Skills for the Global Economy" (2009), "K-12 Symposium: Technology and Innovation in a Global Age" and "Community College Symposium: Innovation and Technology in a Global Age" (2010).
