La Habana

el vedado
I liked standing on a street corner near the university and seeing, in the same sweep of the eye, a painting of Ché and la iglesia nuestra señora del carmen. Normally I went to mass around the corner from the residence (23 and F, ish), but when I missed the morning mass I would make it up here at night. The priest was a bit too intense for me, but seemed to have a good following. Either way, it was interesting to see very different homilies delivered in close proximity (el vedado vs. centro habana) but two very different neighborhoods.
