Las Terrazas

Near the plaza and library in Las Terrzas, a small town rebuilt in the late 20th-century and designed to promote ecotourism in the wake of the depletion of the traditional charcol sources. We visited the site as a group; I was impressed that the peoples' relationship to the land could be so radically revised in a short period of time. It helps that tourism brings in enough money to sustain the town.
