Photos from Yucatán

Here are some photos from the rest of the state of Yucatán in 2009: Santa Elena, where we spent 2 weeks; Xocen/Valladolid, 1 week; day trips to Ek Balam, Chichen Itzá, Labna, and Uxmal.

In 2011, I was fortunate to receive a second FLAS award, and below I present some of the photos from Valladolid (wa ich maaya, Saki u k'aabae'). Because I spent most of my time in Mérida working on a text-heavy translation project, I didn't have as great an occasion to photograph my time in Yucatán. ("Here I am with a dictionary! And here with a volume from Natasha Trethaway!") But one need only spend a few hours here to appreciate the beauty of the city and its people.
