Coastal Geology - The Rodriguez Lab

Opportunities in Graduate Coastal Geology Studies

Some recent and ongoing research projects include:

  • Examining the Holocene evolution of estuaries along the Northern Gulf of Mexico and mid Atlantic margins.
  • Evaluating the controls on incised-valley morphology and fill architecture.
  • Examining variations in beach erosion and barrier island evolution and morphodynamics.
  • Assessing the impact of climate change and associated sea-level rise on coastal areas.
  • Determining the evolution of oyster reefs at varying tidal elevations.
  • Investigating the contribution of aeolian transported sediment to back-barrier accretion.

If you have an interest in any of these projects or coastal geology in general, and you are interested in pursuing a graduate degree, contact Dr. Rodriguez.
