What is Slam Dunk? A manga by Inoue Takehiko, (copyright of Shueisha, Inc.)
following the adventures of the basketball
team of Shohoku High. It's one of the best that I've read, with a touching realism to the
characters and their intensity. What is TMP? A group of SD fans who got together to
scanlate the manga. Why do we do it? I thought I told you, because we're SD fans! We do
this solely to let others have a chance to see why we like it so much. We make no profit out
of this whatsoever.
With that said, go ahead and read, we hope you enjoy it. Feel free to visit us at #sdmanga on irc.rizen.net (mIRC) to get the latest releases, or just to come in and chat :B Small mIRC FAQ |

Phew.
First of all, sorry for the long wait. Things have been pretty hectic, 40-hr work weeks plus a couple of hobbies I'm really trying to make ground in have really taken up the majority of my time. That being said, I apologize not being able to reply to everyone's emails. I really do appreciate hearing from fellow fans, whether it be encouragment/ criticism/ etc. I'm thankful Inoue Takehiko did this work, and I only hope that our scanlations did not mar his vision of what this manga should be too greatly. So if everyone's wondering what I'm being so long-winded about, you've probably guessed, the 31st and final volume is out. I'd just like to take this time to thank all the people involved, from however little and however great. Big thanks to Antz for leading the project and basically keeping it going and getting it done. Scanlating is not an easy job; the hours and effort are much more than than final result would make it seem. The guys who keep doing it purely for the love of the manga; you guys are awesome. I'm glad for the privilege to have been part of it, and I'm glad I'm able to see the end of this great series. A lot of people have asked about getting copies of the earlier volumes in zip format (volumes 1-20) for easier downloading. I'll try to get to that as soon as I can. Once again, thanks for reading everyone. - oldskool |
| 6/1/2004: | Hey everybody! Really sorry about the long downtime... life's been pretty hectic. Finished up classes and research, graduated, been travelling interviewing around, and started my internship at Eli Lilly. Here are what's been released in the meantime: volumes 28 through 30. Thanks everyone for the emails and encouragement, I hope you enjoy these volumes as the series winds down. Ciao! |
| 2/15/2004: | Sorry I haven't been keeping up with the updates. Volumes 23 through 27 have been released, and are online in zip format. Happy reading. |
| 8/27/2003: | Heya, it's been a while since an update. Since then, volumes 21 and 22 have been released. As I'm not sure when my web space is going to run out, I've decided not to take the trouble to put them up as jpegs, but leave the entire volumes as zip archives which you can download and read from your computer. A good slide-showish program for looking at picture files such as jpegs I'd recommend is AcdSee. When my web space runs out, I'll transfer the latest volumes to some other space so they can still be downloaded, give me a holler if the links stop working. |

Sorry for the lack of updates. I'm back home from school, and I'm now working, so it's even more
busy than before, but here's a rundown of what's been going on.
1. We've moved (again) to irc.mircx.com. It's more stable than aniverse; sorry about the hassle folks. 2. Chapter 180's been released, I'll put it up sometime. 181 should be out soon. 3. I *think* we have scans now, but if you have some Slam Dunk volumes somewhere don't throw them away just yet. 4. In a bit of bad news, I may lose my webspace soon, meaning I'll have to take down the links, but this page will still exist. I'll probably host the latest releases only, I don't have the space to host all the volumes. So if you see some dead links in the near future, you'll know why. I'd just like to say thanks again for all the fans who keep visiting and giving support, and thanks Tatsu for his Japanese help from time to time. |
| 2/6/2003: | Yeah, we still need a scanner. But release of chapter 179, so I thought I'd upload it to complete volume 20. |
| 1/30/2003: | A mix of good and bad news. 3 new chapters up, but our scanner has gone MIA, and so we're again searching for a scanner for the project to continue. Any help is appreciated, drop us a line or come down in #sdmanga on irc.aniverse.com. |
| 1/16/2003: | Not really an update, but news: we have moved to irc.aniverse.com (for all you mIRC users) which should be an improvement over the lag and connection problems with DAlnet. Also, we have started releasing again; so some chapters may be coming in the near future. Thanks to aznhellknt/borgking, our new scanner. Happy New Year. |
| 12/14/2002: | A very small update, 2 more chapters. Sorry about the delay, our project is currently looking for a scanner, so if you have Slam Dunk scans and are interested in helping out and scanning them, please give us a holler, email me at achao@email.unc.edu or visit us at #sdmanga on DAL.net. We're still there. |
| 9/24/2002: | First 3 chapters of volume 20 uploaded (171-173). The project's slowed down a bit, what with school back and all, so I may decide to upload by chapter instead of waiting for the volume. |
| 9/8/2002: | Volume 19 uploaded. I just realized that it's 2002. I had been thinking it was 2003 for a long while, for some reason. |
| 8/21/2002: | Volume 18 up. |
| 7/30/2002: | So I didn't update last night. My after dinner nap has a bad habit of becoming bloated and morphing into the after dinner full blown sleep. But now volume 17 is all up, enjoy. |
| 7/29/2002: | Fixed one of the pictures that didn't work in chapter 143. Update tonight, maybe, but most likely not a whole volume. Check back later. |
| 7/28/2002: | Sorry it's been so long. I'd been trying on occasion to get to a decent connection to upload, but I finally decided just to sit on my butt and take the time to upload through 56k. Volume 16 is completely up, and 17 will come soon, I promise, like tomorrow.... maybe :B |
| 7/11/2002: |
Did I keep you waiting long enough? Heh heh.... volumes 14-15 are up! The end of the Kainan game!
Maybe I'll upload a little bit of volume 16 soon too...
So I went and uploaded the first four chapters of volume 16, hopefully that'll make up for the wait. |
| 6/27/2002: | Volumes 12-13 up, the first half of the Kainan match. Volume 13 is one of my favs. The Project has now released up to chapter 119. |
| 6/20/2002: | Volumes 10-11 up, the intense Shoyo game! Just FYI, the project has now released up to volume 13, chapter 114. |
| 6/13/2002: | Volumes 7-9 up. |
| 6/5/2002: | Late happy birthday to our project leader, Antz... he got all mad when everyone was just giving his birthday kicks... it's just cause we mean you well :B. Volumes 4-6 finally uploaded, (The conclusion of the Ryonan match, and a new troublemaker appears?) and 7-9 will be up soon, I promise. I haven't revamped the viewing scheme yet, but that will come later. |
| 5/24/2002: | The first overhaul on this page, it's still in the rough stages. Most of the graphics are done, but the layout may change soon, and everything still needs touching up. No new volumes have been posted yet (sorry! I know I'm like 8 volumes behind... and they are a good 8 volumes, I've read them :P) but I haven't finished the overhaul of the viewing scheme so it may be a while for that. |
