I graduated in 2005 with honors as a William C. Whitaker acadmic scholar with a B.A. in journalism and mass communication and a minor in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

As of Summer 2006, I am a working to close the educational achievement gap in the U.S. as a Teach for America corps member. I am happily teaching ninth grade science in St. Louis, MO, melding my journalism skills with my passion for helping people through science.

I also have strong interests outside of teaching, including singing* and computers. Most recently, I deployed a blogging community for Teach for America teachers using a brand-new software platform. To see the blogs, visit TeachFor.Us.

On deck: a site redesign is in order. In the least, I need to finally make this design wholly standards compliant and cross-browser compatible. It kills me that it only looks good in IE.
