Graduation Countdown since last update: 24 days

April 15, 2004

Yesterday I had my whole day planned on a piece of paper, so naturally, the day turned upside down instead (I'll get into that later). The best part though, was that I ran into a senior fair of sorts, for senior year. Well, that wasn't on my list of plans, but there was free food for crying out loud.

Anyway, the fair was great. It looks small from afar, but participating was hilarious. There was a little petting zoo with a piggy, bunnies, snakes and the biggest dog I'd ever seen (that was still growing). That dog was so social, he was saying, "yes, I'm hugable and loveable, so tell me how your day was today as I chew on your pet leg ever so gently."

I climbed the bell tower too. I've been wanting to do that forever because I heard you can write your name on the inside of the tower. Let me tell all you future seniors that "they" aren't letting you do that anymore. I did all that climbing...

They also had a HUGE inflatable slide...the kind you see at the county fairs- ahhhh that was fun. Finally, the best part, sumo wrestling! Yes, who doesn't want to get in a body suit you have to crawl into backwards while two supervisers pull you up so you can stand? The girl I was with knocked me out. I blame it on my uncontrollable laughter. You can't even walk in the things. You have to hip hip hop.

My tip of the day is to do something like sumo wrestling your last year. It's such a turn from your everyday life plans (well, for some of us anyway). It's one of those things you may never do again and wouldn't have done if it wasn't for the random senior fair. When you graduate you'll be so busy doing things like, um, trying to find a job. I suspect it's always important to do something different throughout life though.

The barbecue was deliciously free. I would have eaten until my buttons popped, but unpredictable events continued to occur. I'll have to explain in my next journal entry.
