Graduation Countdown since last update: 32 days

Phew! What a day. I went to court today to write a story for my journalism class. I had to drive to downtown Durham. It's a nice drive back on a sunny afternoon. In the morning though, it's chilly, it's 8 a.m., people are rushing to work...this is a universal thing so you get the picture. If there's one thing I know about going to court for court stories, it's that court isn't a fun place to be. Sure, when you're sitting there looking for or following a story it's interesting, but not necessarily a good kind of interesting. You're happy you aren't involved, but the trials sure can be depressing. Leave it up to the judge to lighten the mood.Who knew?

I have another college tip today. I suggest registering with the University Career Services, or whatever the equivalent is at your school. I suspect it is best (hardy har I rhymed) to do this as soon as possible before you are a senior. No matter what anyone says, you start working hard the minute you step foot here. Freshman year is the beginning of "Okay do I want to intern? Do I want to travel? What companies do I want to stalk...um, I mean follow so I can make connections?" It's hard to believe that this starts so early, but 4 years sure goes by fast. Surely most seniors will tell you that time flies. There are a few workshops I hope are still going on that I can attend before graduation. Although I'll be working after graduation (which I'm quite thankful for) I still need to know this information and leave my resume here and there for future reference. After all, we don't know what the future brings.
