My name is Amanda Jepsen, as you might have noticed. I am a journalism major here at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I'm slated to graduate in May of 2004 and and I hope will have learned enough to make a go of it in the real world. A little life history is in order, I think. I was born in Albemarle, North Carolina in July of 1982. I didn't stay there long though, as my father was then a commissioned Marine Corps officer. With him, our family has lived in Camp Lejeune, NC, Fort Monmouth, NJ, Okinawa, Japan and Selfridge ANGB, Michigan. I returned to North Carolina to go to school after my father retired. I've still got a taste for travel though and one of these days I'm going to wander the globe in search of adventure. I hope I'll be writing for a major publication at that point and they'll pay for me to go to such places. And now for a little extraneous, though interesting information: I speak half-fluent Japanese, I absolutely love Japan, I play the flute on the side, the trombone in the UNC Marching Tar Heel band, watch a lot of indie and eclectic films, write for The Daily Tar Heel, the campus newspaper, I'm a ROTC groupie, read as much as humanly possible, spin my cat whenever I'm home and bike the trails around campus. Nothing too bizarre. Anyway, Enjoy my web site, my first real online endeavor. Feel free to peruse my resume, see some photos of my family and friends and go to some of my favorite sites. Hopefully, it's not too terribly juvenile. |
