I am a post-doc in the Biology department at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.  I am officially in the Salmon lab, although I spend most of my time in the Bloom lab. My research goal is to understand the biophysics of kinetochore motility and the molecular mechanisms underlying its regulation. I visualize molecules and organelles using live cell fluorescence microscopy.

My post-doctoral work made effective use of microscopy to assemble an in vivo visualization of the kinetochore-microtubule attachment. This protein architecture proposes a model for force generation as well as kinetochore regulation.
