And Photography…

I dreamt of being an evolutionary biologist growing up before I decided to go in another direction for studying biology. My passion in those days was insects and butterflies. I also dabbled in photography, one of the hobbies that I picked up from my dad (music and gardening being some of the others). You can find a some of the butterfly and insect snaps here and here.

I write analysis software in MatLab, usually graphical user interfaces, to analyze image data. Metamorph is the software of choice for running microscopes in the Salmon and Bloom labs, although it leaves . The GUIs tend to be rough around the edges, and designed mostly with myself as the end-user.  I would be happy to share the software; just be prepared to go through a “smoothing-out” period. Please email me, and I will send the files along. The  email address is on the home-page.
