Section I.
1. Claude Monet greatly
influenced the Impressionist movement in Europe and particularly
in France. Impressionism, as an artistic movement, captures
the beauty of the moment through the focus of light.
As a premiere impressionist painter, Monet painted a scene from
the same viewpoint at different times of the day to show the
variations of light. After seeing the vibrant colors and nature
scenes so common to Monet's masterpieces, I fell in love with
his artwork and soon thereafter, with the whole Impressionist
era. I have seen some of his original works at the following
museums: Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid, Spain; Musée
d'Orsay in Paris, France; Musée du Lourve in Paris, France.
