Başak Altan
Ph.D. Candidate
Department of Economics

As a graduate student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I have served as an independent instructor at both intermediate and advanced levels. I have taught the core microeconomics course Intermediate Microeconomic Theory (Econ 410) and an advanced microeconomics course Industrial Organization (Econ 445). In addition to serving as an independent instructor, I had the opportunity to serve as a teaching and head teaching assistant for an undergraduate economics course Introduction to Economics (Econ 101).

My experiences as a course instructor and teaching assistant have provided me with a great opportunity to refine my teaching philosophy and grow as a teacher.
