Or rather, what I did on my weekend.
But first things first. Two exams down, three to go! Chinese went well, I think, since it boiled down to, essentially, "Were you paying attention for the last four months?" And, I mean, I KINDA was, so I should have done okay. I just turned in my final for Middle Eastern history, so I wash my hands of that. And I had a meeting with Emily and Meghan on the direction of Features next year, and honestly, I'm really, really excited about it. I think that this is going to be a very good year for Features, and I'm glad I get to work with both of them. So here's to having no life next semester! Oh, and I learned that features assistants get paid less than hard news assistants, so, screw them! We're cooler anyway. Whatev.
And some other stuff as well: we took quite a lot of photos this year, so I've created a new webshots folder, called Winter 2005-06 (and cleverly subtitled brrrrrrr or something like that). I'll move it, as well as the old one, up, since it should be in reverse chronological order anyway. You can see all our latest adventures there! I think that's it. Oh, okay... the Rodman Blog! may be changing location when Lara goes to Spain, because I imagine she'll want to put her blog in this location. So don't be sad guys ... and maybe I'll try to get Sarah posting as well!
But okay, on to the juicey stuff. I guess, first things first, Lara, Jared, and I went to the annual Lenoir Christmasathon dinner! All familiy-like, since we ate with Mary and her sister (and ran into one of my friends and her sister as well). The highlight of course, was this:

Lara has the original one, and we really should scan it in. But okay, Santa is really just the dining hall manager dressed up. And Lara's saying something like, "OHHH MY GOD SANTA! I'm SOOOO glad you came! SANTA SANTA SANTA!" And he's probably thinking, "God, I feel so bad for the retards..."
So yeah. Friday night. The Naturals had a show. My parents came over.

That's them. Sarah did too.

That's her. We all (including Connie) went out to dinner for Indian food. It was surprisingly inoffensive to my stomach. And I thought it'd be a good idea to, like, pregame, since I can't drink at the bar. So, a few things I've learned from that situation:
1) It's really, really COOL to get drunk in your dorm room with your parents.
2) Sarah's good at holding people up.
and most importantly, 3) I shouldn't be introduced to people when I'm intoxicated.
I won't go into that. Let's just say it was, uh, bad. I mean, I thought it was hilarious! But it was still bad.
So we made it to W.B. Yeats eventually, Sarah and I, and we met up with my parents there, Miss Jill, and Diana and her friend Isaac. Cool stuff. The Naturals were SMOKIN', we got to meet Devin's grandfather and Jason's dad. But the highlight of the night was most certainly our new friend:

She looks like a normal, kindly middle aged woman, right? Oh, and she was. She was very polite and helpful. You'll notice how she helps Jared sing the song.

I mean, it's not every day that an incredibly intoxicated audience member is willing to go out of their way and help the band sing! Normally, it's semi- to attractive college-aged girls, so it's nice when one of their more mature fans gets out their to help them!

Look at the passion on her face, the pure, raw emotion! That is why they play music, ladies and gentlemen. That makes it all worthwhile. Of course, the best part of the evening was most certainly this lovely lady's dancing.

Oh yeah. It was somewhere around this point she told me I was the "hottest guy in the bar". That really touched my heart! So, okay, apparently, she's the NUDE MODEL for Jason's art class. I guess I had this stereotype that a nude model would be hot and like, nice to look at naked. Silly me. Then again, someone willing to sit naked in front of an art class probably is a freak.
Not that we didn't dance either.

'
Oh yeah, if only I had taken MY shirt off. Me and Jill even managed to drag Sarah out. What a cutie!!!!
And finally, this picture, just 'cause I'm hot stuff:

This was probably the latest my parents stayed up for, like, 30 years. Amazing stuff there -- we didn't leave until almsot 12:45. Who knew they could be so COOL?!?!
The rest of my weekend was slightly less exciting, I suppose. I saw the penguin movie. Oh yeah, that was awesome. I think that's about it. Anyway, I'm really starting to fade now -- I'm EXHAUSTED. So I'm going to go take a nap. I'll upload the videos of our friend dancing sometime later today. And that's about it!
