Conclusions

• LES with dynamic eddy-viscosity validated in unsteady case.

• Mean (time averaged) properties show little dependence on driving frequency.

• The coupling between outer and inner layer is controlled by the turbulent Stokes length. Only oscillations at a frequency lower than a critical value escape into the logarithmic layer.

• The coherent structures are strongly influenced by the driving frequency.
