Welcome to Ashley Everhart's homepage. About Me: I am a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and I plan to graduate in May. My majors are Journalism (Advertising) and Political Science, and I am planning to attend Washington and Lee School of Law in the fall. I have no clue what type of law I want to practice at this point, but I do know I want to feel like I have made a difference at the end of the day. My work with the Guardian Ad Litem program in Durham, NC has provided me with invaluable experience with family law, and my journalism course in media law also captivated me. There is just so much out there. Being a Guardian Ad Litem has been one of the best experiences of my life. I represent kids in court in cases of abuse and/or neglect as a volunteer advocate. Although emotionally trying at times, I feel like I might be making a positive difference in the lives of these children. And they're such great kids. I also am one of three Head Waits at the Carolina Brewery, where I have worked for 3 1/2 years. The Brewery has provided me not only with a ton of life experience and lessons on what NOT to do in a restaurant, but it has also introduced me to some of my best and closest friends. Over the summer, even though I will be living at home in Greensboro, I plan to continue working at the Brewery until I move to Lexington, VA in August.
This web site is an assignment for my Journalism 50 class, and it is my first attempt at web site design, so be kind in your criticism.
Here are a few of my favorite links:
My future home--Washington and Lee School of Law.
This is the American Civil Liberties Union homepage, an organization of which I am a card carrying member.
I am a member of the Carolina Photography Association at UNC-CH, even though I never have time to take advantage of the darkroom access it provides.
This is my good friend David Stith's web site. He puts all other web site designers to shame, in my opinion.
For most of my undergraduate career I have worked at the Carolina Brewery, a restaurant and micro-brewery in Chapel Hill, NC.
