Learn about free databases for Japanese Studies and how to get materials from Japan. The session will cover searching Webcat/Webcatplus, Zasshi Kiji sakuin, JACAR, Todai's tables of contents for books published in Japan,  and a newspaper database.  Find out how to identify materials for your research and teaching, and how to get Japanese resources available in Japan and North America by accurately romanizing your request and verifying holding information.

This workshop has been designed for members of the Southern Japan Seminar travelling to Chapel Hill for Saturday's conference and is open to local graduate students and faculty in Japanese Studies, too.  Contact Jan Bardsley (bardsley@email.unc.edu) to reserve a space.
