Possible Topics for Your Annotated Bibliography
These topics are in no particular order. 
Make sure you can find enough sources in English or any other language you read before you settle on a topic.
Preliminary search ideas: Do a keyword search or a "Japan + (your subject)" as a subject search through the Davis Library online catalogue; check "article databases" on the Davis Library homepage, and from there, try Lexis Nexis, JSTOR, and ACADEMIC UNIVERSE for keyword searches.  You can also check with a reference librarian in the Undergrad Library for leads.
