So fall is finally here. There's a crisp autumn scent blowing on the wind that hints of cold nights and hot rock shows ahead. Check the shows page for info on upcoming shows with Speedwell, friends of ours from DC who make hyper, fun pop music that will make you enjoy hyper, fun pop music a whole lot more.

Also in the near future, November 1st and 2nd to be exact, is the CD release party for the Patchwork compilation, a collection of jams from some great Chapel Hill and Seattle bands (as well as some others) like Superchunk, Seaweed, the White Octave, Cold Sides and more. This is a great CD, and the party will make for a super-rockin weekend. Be there. Check out www.mereexposure.com for more info.

After these next few shows we'll probably take a break from playing out for a while. We've been working on writing a new album and want to dedicate more time toward that. So far it's been going great. We're really excited about the direction things are going, and I hope you will be too. Maybe, just maybe if you're good we'll let you a hear some of the progress in a few weeks. You'll have to check back here for that, though.

And photos are coming very soon for the photo page. Promise.***

Until next time.

Wow, summertime in Chapel Hill is brutalzing me! So hot! But never mind that, welcome to Disband version 3.0. This html site should quiet everybody's complaints about Flash 6. With that said...

Disband just got home a few days ago from our two-and-a-half week tour which took us across the East Coast, from Athens, GA, to Columbus, OH, to Boston, back to North Carolina and several places in between. We played some great shows, made lots of new friends, hung out with our buddies at Ernest Jenning Record Company, saw some amazing bands, and got to know our new van, The Nast'. Special thanks are in order for our friends, old and new, in Athens, DC/Baltimore, Jersey City/NYC, and Western Massachusetts.

Aside from The Nast's regular breakdowns during the first few days of the tour and our towing and subsequent $200 ticket in Baltimore, the trip was great and free of incident. Thanks to everyone who provided beds/floor space/showers/food/mechanical advice along the way, and to everyone who came out to our shows. We hope to hit the South with some weekend jaunts over the fall.

This tour, and probably the next few trips, was/will be in support of our new release, At the Scene of the Accident. It's a split with fellow North Carolina rockers Kudzu Wish, and is brought to you by our afore-mentioned friends at Ernest Jenning. Disband and Kudzu each contribute five tracks, while Greensboro mixmaster Aldous Huxtable provides a segue of beats and samples from both bands. You can buy it at Insound or Interpunk.

And if that's not enough for you, check out the new NE v. NC compilation from Redemption Records. A collection of 34 bands from your two favorite "N" states, it features our song "The Worst Kisser in the World," as well as tracks from Desaparecidos, The Good Life, Sorry About Dresden, Fin Fang Foom and Cold Sides. We also will be releasing "The Machine Song" on the upcoming Patchwork comp featuring Superchunk, Seaweed, the White Octave and more.

That's it for now. Stay cool.
