The band has been around forever (they had a great song called "Circle of Sleep" on WXYC's Demolisten Volume One which came out in 1989 or so, and they existed in some form or another as Other Bright Colors for a long while before that... ...They sound different from anyone else. They show the remnants of a late 1980's post-REM pop sound, but muddy it up a lot. Eminently catchy, and Mr Whatshisname is a great vocalist. The album displays a guitar tone that is halfway between a pop-strum and a Resolian muddy sheet, to brilliant effect. - From an Alt.Music.Chapel-Hill post
