Mind Sirens and Roger Manning
Local 506, Chapel Hill
Roger the snotty anti-folk poster boy and Mind Sirens, the reclusive fractured anthem-writing genius types. One can only hope that Mind Sirens are playing first, so you can get your dose of brilliant wailing done before ol' Roger spends his typical hour or so whining about stuff. I played "Graveyard" by Mind Sirens (from the still-marvelous 1993 Jettison comp "Falling off the Planet") this weekend and it's still stuck in my head, something about eyelashes and olives and high, high drama. Grand.
