Many organizations are involved in the AIDS research movement that is taking place in African countries and many other third world nations. These organizations range from non-profit firms to pharmaceutical companies. With AIDS/HIV affecting such a huge portion of the population in Africa, AIDS research in this region seems to be a humanitarian effort.

Through research, I hope to discover exactly which organizations are involved in funding and running these research efforts. In addition to finding these organizations’ vested interests, I hope that I will be able to clearly determine if these research efforts are more humanitarian in nature, or exploitative.
