DTH

The oldest college newspaper in the south, The Daily Tar Heel is a multiple winner of the Pacemaker Award, one of the most pretigious honors in college journalism. It was last awarded the Pacemaker for the 2000-2001 school year, a year in which I wrote 38 published news stories, most of any staff writer. Now independent of all student fees, The Daily Tar Heel has a circulation of about 29,000 and an estimated readership of about 40,000. Visit www.dailytarheel.com to read it online.

blue & white

My newest journalistic venture, The Blue & White is the UNC student magazine published monthly. It contains news and features stories and in only its 5th year of exsistence, has amassed a circulation of over 5,000. Check it out online at www.unc.edu/bw.

Mountain Xpress

With a circulation of about 50,000, the Mountain Xpress is the 2nd biggest publication in Western North Carolina. A weekly newsmagazine, it balences between local news and arts and entertainment features. Being independently owned, the Mountain Xpress has a lot of editorial freedom and as a result puts together the most hard-hitting and in-depth pieces in the area. Read it online at www.mountainx.com

Hendersonville Times News

The Hendersonville Times-News is the daily paper for the town of Hendersonville, N.C. and has a circulation of around 30,000. Owned by the New York Times, the Times-News combines local news coverage with national and international wire stories.
