March 15th, 2003: As I finalize housing logistics for my summer of reporting in New York, I've put together three more feature stories for the DTH and now they're all up on the site. One of the stories ("University Setting, Young Talent Bring National Attention to Chapel Hil:"l), gave me the chance to interview indi-rock legend Mac McCaughan of Superchunk. The Arts and Entertainment desk definetly has its perks. But as for next year, my options at the paper are as wide open as the bold new plans of our recently selected editor. As a member of the committee that selected her over another highly qualified candidate, I can say that she's got some exciting plans for next year. Stay tuned to see where I'll fit into all that for my senior year. In less steller reporting news, I continue to get the run around at the Blue & White. My days there are numbered although I just got a another story published in the last couple weeks. I might put it up soon. For now, I'm just going to revel in the knowledge that my roomates and I now have a house for senior year. There's still plenty of junior year left, but sometimes it's hard not to look ahead.

Feb. 2nd. 2003: Reporting class has kept my sanity and productivity to a minimum. It's all the work of real publications, but without the perk of being published (or the incentive for sources to call you back). Nonetheless, I've got another review up in the DTH section, two more in-depth DTH stories I'll have up next week, and a Blue & White story also in the can. Once the first round of tests bowls over, I'll try to put some more photos (i.e. fun stuff) up as well. Let me know if you have any suggestions!

Jan. 11th, 2003: Berate me now for failing to update, its the last chance you'll get, now that weekly updates of my website are a 2003 resolution (because really, those are so reliable). I've got another Blue & White story up, and a couple more in the works that will keep me plenty busy this week. As if DTH, DM, and the roughest class schedule yet don't put enough dent into my time. But now I have the added motivation of my solidified internship at the Staten Island Advance for this summer. Winter break, with its excursion to New York, served as a great reminder of the good things in store should I keep from buckling under the pressure of oncoming deadlines and evasive sources. Glenn and Jenn, you make the best travel companions.

Nov. 26th, 2002: An exhausting week, but one with some aspect of finality, at least as far as work goes. After some long long nights, all my assignments for the semester are turned in and the first Dance Marathon newsletter is finally done. Last Saturday night celebrated the upcoming break in perfect fashion. Thanks to everyone who came to the apartment that night. The music page is updated and I also threw up an essay on the History page. Hopefully, I'll be able to flesh out the Blue & White page in the next couple weeks. Have a happy Thanksgiving!

Nov. 18th, 2002: And we're up and running! This site has been plenty of work getting together, but also tons of fun and I intend to make good use of it for at least the rest of my time at Carolina. I'll be updating the site on a weekly basis with new information about my life, new journalism clips, new photos, new links, new research, and new additions to the music section. Basically, everything on this site is open for alteration, so come back to the updates page every couple weeks. Thanks for taking the time to visit and please email me with any comments whatsoever about the site. Enjoy!
