ms. marigold

pattern: ms. marigold from zephyr style

yarn: rowan all seasons cotton

color: safari

needles: addi turbo US 6

date started: july 3, 2006

details: as this tank is an effort to stashbust, my yarn is in a different gauge than the pattern's dk weight yarn. the maths seem to be working well so far, though i'm preparing myself to have to knit this tank twice. i'd like the V to not be as deep...the top will still require a camisole, but ideally the girls will be mostly contained. i can't wait to make the ruffle!

status: um...i haven't touched this project in a while. i think that reflects my apprehension about the yarn - it's a bit too heavy for this pattern. i should retry the ruffle using a larger crochet hook, but my guess is that it will still feel too stiff. ugh. is it time for fall knitting yet? (if i had some summery dk weight in my stash, i would totally knit this pattern now. but i'm trying to be a good girl and go through all the sweater yarn i have, so no yarn buying for me.)

status update, 8-11: so much for the good girl. i bought some cotton fleece in berry. it was a great sale, that makes it okay... (something like 35% off retail price? not factoring in shipping costs)

status update, 8-24: am thinking i don't need to frog this. it will just be a ruffle-less ms. marigold, hence more of an all seasons vest. she might be a bit short, we'll see how far the yarn will stretch.
