Judy Hope
I Saw You
I saw you again this morning,
the gentle, tender man
with the soft and smiling eyes
that caught my heart.
I saw you again this morning,
You looked out from behind
the angry, bitter lines
locked like heavy iron bars
across the window of your eyes.
I saw you again this morning,
like a briefest flash of bright blue skies
before the heavy hanging cloud
rolled back in to hide you.
I miss you.
