Last Week's Question - Why does everyone close the bathroom door even when they know they are the only one in the house? Or, since I really have no idea what everyone does, maybe I should be asking why I do that. But come on...I know I'm not the only one.

------

My Answer -

Linda D - Funny Baker give yourself away, As A female and just a bad habit 3 of the women in my family and some of my girlfriends always leave the bathroom door open if we are in our own homes or at each others house's. I don't know why of course! it depends on what we are doing in the bathroom I hope this will not show my name! But if we are just going #1 fine doors open still talking, Anything else I'm sure like you we close the door.

Sarah KW - Having walked in on some one who doesn't shut the door when no one is home, I can attest that not all of us are as paranoid as you. But I suspect the reason people do it is fear that they will be walked in on.

Lori W - uhhh...I always close the door. What if there's a burglar in the house? Anyway, you shouldn't get into the habit of leaving the door open. What a weird question.

Mark D - I've heard (and this is just what I heard) that some people (not me, you understand) believe there are specters, or apparitions, if you will, that live amongst us, but in a parallel dimension which we can't see. And that these apparitions use our bathrooms. And so it really just makes sense to close the door, you know, to be polite to the specters and shades and what not. You know.

King J - I used to be in your boat, editor extraordinaire, but then I completed an online survey asking if I closed the bathroom door if no one else was around. I had never thought about it before, but I guess I just closed the door out of habit. I guess there’s still some lurking suspicion that someone might randomly show up, which is a totally bogus thought when I’m back home because the closest neighbor is a mile away, and they never come over. But as I said, that was until I filled out the online survey. Since then I have proudly been using the bathroom without fear of anyone walking in. Okay, so maybe there is still a small reservation that someone may walk in, but hey, my back’s turned to them anyways, so who cares?

La M - Like dogs who look back at us while on their leash with mournful eyes, knowing we watch them leave a nugget, we close the bathroom door so no one will see us with our elbows on our knees, as we squeeze and out it comes like rotten cheese.

This Week's Question - Okay...I've decided I'm too squeamish to ask a question like that again. Back to the realm of safety - The Holiday Season. How long is too long to keep a Christmas tree? I know my family likes to keep the tree well into January, but I see a number of trees on the streets by January 1. Where do these trees go? The Christmas Tree retirement facility where they hang out and reminisce of the holidays gone by? Have you ever tried to visit them? Let's be realistic here, folks.
