This is not a normal interview but instead some thoughts and links for others to read from Iraq. These people are writers of a different nature, voices that have been staunched for too many years finally being released for all to read.

Voices From Iraq
I have spent many hours wondering why we went into Iraq.
When this war started I wanted the prez to wait just a little longer before going in.
Needless to say, I have family over there and constantly worry about their coming home in one piece. Our soldiers have been told so many conflicting dates for coming back home. It is tiresome and trying for all involved.
But seriously, I couldn't understand the rush into this damn war.
How many people does our government think we can protect? How far does the prez think our shores go? What business have we trying to tell others how to live?
My daughter adamantly says it’s for oil. Even when I try to explain it's about humans and human rights too. She firmly believes it's about oil.
I figure we can get plenty of oil without war.
"We are our brothers keepers", gives me a place to believe maybe we are doing something worth while.
Recently I came across a blogging site that I think is important.
Now understand basically I think blogging is nonsense.
I can't understand why people want to waste so much time telling others about their lives or whatever project they find worthy of many others reading. Spend your blogging time doing something useful, like watching TV. (Joking!)
But, this blogging site is voicing the opinions of Iraqi people. Imagine that! This couldn't have happened without this war.
The people on this site are special! They are serving their country the best way they can, with their voice..
They are still afraid. They use anonymous names and do not go into great detail about where they live and who they are.
But their voices are starting to come out regardless of the danger to themselves and their families.
It helps give me a much stronger sense of why we are over there.
Our news agencies are not giving time and thought to voicing these peoples opinions or their feelings. We are only getting the negative crap about this war.
I did in fact ask to interview one of the bloggers but am not sure they even read their emails or if they use fake emails just to register with the site. So, in lieu of an interview I decided to post their links and let others go read for themselves.
Some of the comments can be brash but are understandable.
There are places to leave comments if you so desire.
Many comments have been left by people of many different countries and these comments are also enlightening.
Due to power failures and other problems the blogs are not always updated daily but they do the best they can to keep up to date.
Go forth and read!
Alaa is my favorite, he is quite an eloquent writer and has wisdom in his thoughts.
His site, The Mesopotamian: TO BRING ONE MORE IRAQI VOICE OF THE SILENT MAJORITY TO THE ATTENTION OF THE WORLD
http://www.messopotamian.blogspot.com/
Zeyad is the next one I read frequently, he is more strongly outspoken but concedes to his rants when comments call on him to think more calmly.
His link can be reached through Alaas’ page by clicking on “Healing Iraq”.
From Zeyads’ site one can also access blogging sites our soldiers have made. http://healingiraq.blogspot.com/
This one is a soldiers site I have also been visiting
Kevin, Boots On The Ground, an army guy stationed in Iraq

I hope you enjoy reading the thoughts and feelings of the Iraqi people and hope that soon more will be expressing themselves freely and without fear of persecution.
