Peace

I like the sound of a cold wind at night
blowing around lonely outside my window
it comfors me, makes me feel warm inside my bed
and I feel safe, yet I am only one

It whispers by, ebbs and flows
reminds me of waves at the beach
and though the wind and I are both lonely
I am glad we do not share the night outside

Yet only in fall and winter does it comfort
Spring always does bring a new start
the wind is happy again, warm and friendly
and shared the night with the newborn life

Alone and comforted I lie here
writing in the dim light of my room
Insomnia again embraces me, though I shun it
Yet, in the end, I still feel Peace.
