Research Interests:
I am interested in the influence of parental racial socialization practices on youth outcomes. Additional research interests include gender characteristics and academic achievement in minority populations, the effects of childhood and adolescent poverty, and family relations and structure among African-Americans. In addition to working with Beth Kurtz-Costes, I am also working in the laboratory of Professor Vonnie McLoyd.
