Research Interests:
My research interests are focused on identifying unique factors that may influence the academic motivation of African American adolescents.  I am primarily interested in the influence of African-American students’ achievement-related attitudes, beliefs, and socialization experiences in various contexts (e.g., school, home) on school achievement and educational attainment. Some of the factors that I am currently exploring are causal attributions for achievement outcomes and stereotypes.
