Last summer I wrote for the Daily Tar Heel (DTH) on the University Desk. It was an enriching experience. The following are links to some of the stories I covered:
This is a story to announce the newly approved Black Cultural Center’s (BCC) director, Joseph Jordan. Jordan is now the director of the BCC. After a two week long break from the DTH, I was told to interview Joseph Jordan, and write an article on the new development in the BCC. Russ Lane, managing editor of the paper, named my article story of the week.

This is a story about The Carolina Association for Medieval Studies and a medieval feast they organized. This story was interesting to write because of the event. The medieval party lasted at least 3 hours but I had a wonderful time because the medieval food was superb!. I also learnt a lot about European medieval culture.

This is a story about student congress in summer passing a resolution to oppose tuition hikes. This story gave me the opportunity to learn about the functions of the student congress. It was a lively congress meeting with members chipping in jokes from time to time.

Last summer some students could not find on campus housing and I wrote a story about that. This story was challenging to write because I had to get the facts right. My understanding of the situation was that late applicants had problems securing a room on campus because housing had not anticipated an increased number of students for last summer. It was an interesting story to write.
