Welcome to the "Official" Bret Dougherty Information Site

If you're new to this site,...Welcome!...I'm a current Graduate Student earning a Master's of Regional Planning at UNC Chapel Hill. Located on the left of this page are links to my articles, career paths, and life interests.

Be sure to tune in WXYC FM 89.3 Chapel Hill or visit www.wxyc.org throughout 2005. I will be co-hosting "SportsRap" from 9-10PM on Sunday nights this Spring, and I will be hosting "Fifteen Feet and In" from time-to-time. Check in with my blog "The IronDog Chronicles" and here for showtimes.

Also, be on the lookout for a cool newstand near you. My article "The Once and Future Curator", which is an interview with former Def Jam publicist and Eyejammie art gallery owner and curator, Bill Adler, appears in Waxpoetics Issue #11.

On the newsfront, click on the podcasting article to the right. I'm featured in Adam Geller's article, "Dining-room DJs find forum in Podcasting" in the March 6, 2005 edition of the Durham Herald Sun. Have fun, and syndicateI my podcasting posts from "The IronDog Chronicles" and from ibiblio's "Notes From the Lab."

With podcasting in mind, do yourself a favor, and download or listen to the 10th Anniversary WXYC Webcasting Conference in the right-hand column. I facilitated the panel for this event, and there are some incredible insights on the present state and future of online radio broadcasting and 'podcasting'.

P.S. Click on the dog and jump into my blog, at the right hand corner of the site for "The IronDog Chronicles" . Here you will find my views and links that I come across throughout the day on sports and urban cultural issues.

Most importantly, please email your ideas and opinions to: bret.dougherty@gmail.com.

Enjoy the site, and 'Open the Door',

Bret Dougherty
