· Sports editor for monthly school magazine

· Work with staff members to choose sports articles

· Organize and advise writers, photographers and designers for each article

· Write sport features including: club football; strength and conditioning program;

team handball club

· Interned as staff writer for Vermont’s largest daily paper

· Covered outdoor and sports articles including: the Great Outdoor Games;

minor league baseball games; a fishing derby; local features

· Learned techniques and tips, such as conducting interviews and eliminating

clichés, from Tim Crothers, a former Sports Illustrated senior writer

· Wrote one article per week and critiqued work with fellow students in an

open-class discussion    

· Assignments concentrated primarily on features, game stories and columns

· City writer for daily school paper

· Covered Orange County news on many different issues such as:

a spiritual festival; election day; joint disaster drill

· Received assignment in the morning and had the story ready for editing by

late afternoon

· Interned as staff writer and photographer for weekly paper

· Covered news and stories in the six surrounding towns such as: school, librarian,

musicals, and sports features; tornado that hit golf course; column

· Took photographs at basketball camp, little league playoffs, school graduation,

features, road race and special events

· Worked with its affiliate, the News Times, in Danbury, CT

· Writer and sports editor for weekly school paper

· Covered men’s and women’s basketball

· Edited and laid out sports section during spring semester, including photography
