Here is a message about our upcoming alumni events from this semester's Alumni Chair, Brian Robb:
Dear Fellow Brothers and Alumni,
My name is Brian Robb. I am writing
to you today as the fall 2001 Alumni Chair for the NC Omega Beta Chapter
of Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity at UNC CH. The purpose of this letter is to
extend and invitation to you for the fall 2001 Omega Beta Alumni Event.
The event will be held on the evening of Saturday December 8th at the Sheraton
of Chapel Hill. Further details are enclosed with this letter.
The complexion of our chapter has
changed greatly since the last alumni event in the fall of 2000. The brothers
have moved out of 107 Fraternity Court, and they are actively pursuing
a new house in close proximity to campus. Led by the Rex, Ethan Speilvogel,
and his fellow Executive Board members, the brotherhood has met and handled
the challenges posed by this move. As a result, a strong foundation of
young leaders has been established to lead the chapter in the near future.
The brotherhood is poised for the opportunities and experiences that lie
ahead.
When analyzing the future of the fraternity,
the importance of alumni relations is readily apparent. Granted, donations
are always appreciated greatly. Just as important, however, is your involvement
and interaction with the active brothers. While ideally every last alumni
would be able to attend this event, that is unrealistic. As a result there
have been other ways established for you to stay abreast of the fraternity
and the news surrounding it. Last year an alumni email listserv was established
to foster communication amongst the many Omega Beta alums. Those who are
on the list will attest to its convenience and usefulness. We also have
a chapter website that can be viewed by the alumni. The address of this
site is www.unc.edu/~btuite .
There is also a spot on the RSVP slip to give us your email address so
that we can add you to the listserv. These options are open to all of you.
