Here
are some samples of my writing, displayed by category so that you can
easily look at what most interests you. Due to the limitations of my university
web space, I have only been able to include a few articles here, but I
have tried to include items written on a variety of topics. Happy reading!
News
-Both of these are from the Sentinel, though I have also written news
articles for the Washington Times, the Chapel Hill Herald and the Daily
Tar Heel.
Health - I wrote several health stories for the Sentinel in the summer of 2003. I intended to include two more here, one on migraines and one on boys who think they're Superman at age 4. I hope that I will be able to add them in the future.
Feature - Most of the feature articles I have done have been on health, but I also have done a few on other topics. This is just one example.
Conservative - My articles for Carolina Review vary from reporting to opinionated column. They generally come from a conservative angle, though perhaps without any more bias than liberal articles that seem to pass for "unbiased" journalism these days. I think it's important to admit when you are addressing an issue from a certain perspective, and I do so here.
High School - I wrote a lot of articles in high school on various topics; this is just one example. My high school had no formal journalism class or strict list of topics for the school paper, so I prettymuch wrote on whatever interested me at the time. While I know high school is well past, I like to provide a cross-sectional picture of my writing, which is why I have included this category of articles. I hope to put more of my award-winning pieces here in the future.
