I am currently working on the Epidemiology
of Exertion, Stress and Preterm Delivery: PIN3 Study based at the Carolina
Population Center. This study began data collection in January 2001
and will examine the relationships between occupational exertion, leisure
time activity, mental and emotional stress and pregnancy outcome.

Previously, I worked on the Cardiovascular Health in Children and Youth (CHIC) studies from 1990 to 2000. These studies show the effect of appropriate, lifestyle-oriented PE and health education at the elementary and middle grades levels. For other publications related to this project, search UNCLE/MedLine under author of Joanne S. Harrell, the principal investigator of this study.
