We
often refer to our studio as the Bat Cave because of
its unassuming outward appearance and the surprisingly
large and homely interior you find once entering. The
original intent in designing and building the studio
was to create a space that was comfortable both for
the musician and the engineer. This means not only a
large tracking room but also plenty of room in the control
room for the enire band to hang without feeling like
you are constantly bumping into each other.
Through
our experience working in studios on all levels (from
the Mega $2000.00 a day studio, down to the basement)
we learned that the quality of performance is the bottom
line in making a good recording. There is nothing more
crucial than feeling comfortable in the environment
that you will be spending hours being creative. Not
that equipment is not important to us. Through the years
recording and being recorded we have learned what "gear"
it takes to make good sounding recordings. At Uptone
you will find a mix of classic analogue tape machines,
micophones, microphone preamps, and processors mixed
in with the latest digital technolgy. The best of the
old and the new.
