Two other students and myself completed a research project on the identity conflict concerning Northern Ireland (Fall 2000). Here is the new location for the web site we created. You may also click the picture. Basically, Northern Ireland still remains part of the Great Britain while some desire to be free and still others want to rejoin Ireland. The divisions have led to violence and protest between Catholics and Protestants. Ever heard the U2 song "Bloody Sunday"? That's related. |

Not only have I researched Northern Ireland, I have visited London. I was blessed to have the privilege of working with South Asian communities in west London this past spring break, 2003. Click here or the picture to see an article I wrote about our trip for my home church in Raleigh, Asbury United Methodist Church. I was also able to see London- an amazing city. Sadly, that has been my only trip across an ocean, though I have also been to Honduras (summer 1999). |

There are two other reseach papers I have written concerning bilingual education in the United States. More specifically, these papers focus on public primary schooling in California and Texas. The first one focuses on the effects of federalism on the public policy. The second covers the roles of governors in both states. Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush both played significant roles in the development of bilingual education policy. |

This is my research paper for Dr. Chuck Stone's censorship class. I wrote this paper on early movie censorship. More specifically, this paper is on the 37 years from 1915-1952 when the Supreme Court denied the film industry its First Amendment rights, saying the the industry was a mere business, operating solely for profit. The paper draws on what initiated these decades of severe censorship as well as what ended them |
