Coolfool has become a pretty good player... I guess
he must do his own stunts in his Quicktime movies, haha. I haven't played
him that much, but since he recently got a better connection, he may be
around more. He is capable of mounting a pretty spirited advance. I'm
sure he gets a lot of practice nailing doubles and triples and various
xav's, so he can get a bunch of pills pretty quickly. From that point,
he will advance quickly, setting down 2 pill takes when he can.. He seems
to love to plant a flanking or spiking pill while he is in the middle
of a take. This looks pretty cool, but it's a habit that you can exploit
to your advantage. The pill he plants is rarely pissed, so it's not all
that dangerous... it also puts his builder at great risk as well as giving
you a chance to capitalize bigtime if you get the builder... he'll have
a couple shot-up pills from his take that he won't be able to rebuild.
Even if you can't get the builder, you can disrupt his forced takes by
ignoring the pill, outflanking him and coming in from the side or behind..
his pills will bury somebody in an avalanche of bullets, often him. In
any event, you can force him out of his take even if you don't kill him,
allowing time for a rebuild. You may even be able to get his man when
he tries to rebuild his blocking pills in mid-surprise attack. In 2x2's,
Coolfool loves to deke. A lot. If you can keep you pills supported while
Coolfool and pal are deking merrily away, your ally can have an unopposed
field day. Since he uses 2-pill takes a lot, it's a good idea to keep
your pills pissed, and try to keep them within supporting distance of
one another. Coolfool is a very good tactical player, but he is not quite
as strong from a strategic standpoint. If you can contain his advance,
you may be able to turn the tables on him, since he doesn't seem to put
a whole lot of stock in defense. Don't leave unsupported spikes lying
around though, because Coolfool is money on lonely pills.
Alex - stay off your modem!!! I good all around
player, specially when he is at school on the network! I usually play
him 1x1, unless he can get on U Wash's T1. A good dogfighter could prolly
rox him. He carries more pills than he is capable of using. If you catch
him doing that, kill him!! He kills my lgm way to easy though, otherwise,
I would do better against him. In the couple of 2x2's that I have been
able to play in with him, I find him to be a capable ally and a tuff opponent.
He keeps constantly sending messages though and I wonder if he would spend
more time playing and less time typing, if he wouldn't do better. Pretty
good at pill wars and doesnt give up his base area without a pretty good
fight. If you want to take a base area away from him, it will take several
spikes, least it does me. Knows how to play in lag too cause of all the
time he spends on his modem. Uses alot of double blocking pills to take
pills with and defends his pills well.
