in croatia we lost eddie and picked up jessica. zagreb is the capital of croatia and we spent one night there. we spent several nights in split, the capital of dalmatia, on the adriatic coast. we stayed in a hostel run by a little old lady no more than 40 meters from the beach. the water was so clear you could see the bottom of the water through 75 feet of water as well as if it were 5 feet. sun tanned and with salt still on our skin, we left croatia and took and overnight train to venice.

we got into zagreb around 2 and we were starving. we decided to stop at a small outdoor food patio. unfortunately our waiter did not speak any english, but two nice guys at the table next to us helped us order a giant plate of meat.
