paris, we stayed for a few days but where ryan and george finally left and i was on my own. before that, we saw the louvre, the cathedral of notre dame, the eiffel tower at night and a 'my morning jacket' concert at a tiny venue in a park just outside of central paris. on my own i visited musee d'orsay, a converted train station that now houses a wide array of art, mostly impressionism (particularly an excellent monet and van gogh section). the louvre considered impressionism a low form of art and hence did not open its doors to the movement, despite the fact that paris was the melting pot for impressionist art.
