The Hutchison Laboratory is located on the 7th floor of the Mary Ellen Jones Building at The University of North Carolina. This is the building formerly known as "FLOB" and is on Manning Drive, across the street from the School of Dentistry and next to the parking structure for the UNC Hospitals.
     The lab is located within the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, and trains Ph.D. students from that department as well as students of The Curriculum in Genetics and Molecular Biology and the Interdisciplinary Program in Biomedical Sciences (IBMS).
     The Hutchison laboratory is also affiliated with The Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and The Program in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, and has access to the core facilities and other programs provided by these organizations.
     The laboratory is involved in several areas of research in molecular genetics and genomics.
