Students conducted a community oral history project.  The class was taught by Steve Estes, who has worked with the Southern Oral History Project at the University of North Carolina.  As a class, students interviewed Charles McLaurin, a former field secretary for SNCC.  They also did independent projects in which they interviewed relatives or community members who lived during the era of segregation and the civil rights movement.
