Where is Sunflower County?

Sunflower County lies in the heart of the Mississippi Delta, historically one of the poorest areas of the country.  As you can see, Sunflower County is a long, skinny county near the western border of the state.  The area is predominantly rural, with large cotton, catfish, and soybean farms dominating the landscape.  The county seat is Indianola (pop. 11,000), located in the south-central portion of the county.  Our project is based in the town of Sunflower, and we primarily serve the towns of Sunflower (pop. 800) and Ruleville (pop. 2,200).
